Information Evening for Reception Intake September 2026

We are delighted to be able to offer an additional opportunity to visit the school to prospective parents for Reception places in September 2026.  The session will involve a talk from our Headteacher Mr Hutchings, as well as the opportunity to view the building.  As part of the presentation, Mr Hutchings will talk about the new site on Honeysuckle Road and how the admission process will work.

 Admission Process

In September 2026, the second site of Lyde Green Primary School, located at Honeysuckle Road, will open to Reception aged pupils. This intake will be for up to 60 pupils and will be in addition to up to 60 pupils joining the school on our existing site. It is expected that the school will take possession of the new building from the developers in early June, which means that all prospective parent tours this year will take place at the Willowherb Road site.

All applications for Lyde Green Primary must be made via South Gloucestershire Council’s admissions page. At this point, parents will not be asked for their preference of which site they wish for their child to attend.

Once the admissions process is completed and parents have been informed of their child’s school (in April 2026), Lyde Green Primary will then run a second process to allocate places at the two sites. Wherever possible, places will be allocated via parental preference, but where this isn’t possible, the school will take into consideration the child’s distance from each site and if there are siblings already at the school.

Once places have been allocated, there will be opportunities in July for children and parents to visit the site where they will be attending in the September. Quite when these will be will depend on when the school takes over the new site from the developers.
